Theatre Three Productions, Inc.
proudly announces
StoryTime at the Playhouse
A LIVE VIRTUAL EVENT FOR THE CLASSROOM
with Dougie J. & The Puppet Brigade
THEATRE THREE PRODUCTIONS, INC., proudly
presents STORYTIME AT THE PLAYHOUSE, virtual performances streamed
live into your classroom!
Join Dougie J. and The Puppet Brigade for a
delightful new show that presents songs, topical features, and
an
original story. Dougie J. will help his good friend Molly the Dolly
as she returns to school. Subjects, including mask-wearing and
hand-washing, will be presented in a fun, upbeat way. Each episode
will host a guest star who will read a story especially created for
StoryTime at the Playhouse. Using music and the magic of
puppets, these live-streamed shows are unique events sure to
entertain and enlighten.
Being offered for the month of October is the story
Peter the Very Special Pumpkin, a tale of a sad young pumpkin who
finds his purpose one very magic Halloween. Guided by his friends
Bingley Bat and Wendla the Witch, he discovers that everyone
has something to share that will “light the way.”
Following the story, Dougie J. will talk with his
guest, highlighting the meaning and moral of the story, creating an
opportunity for classroom discussion beyond the presentation.
Future episodes will have traditional fairy tales
with unique THEATRE THREE twists, folklore from around the world,
holiday-focused narratives, as well as original stories that focus
on valuable lessons. STORYTIME AT THE PLAYHOUSE can become an
ongoing event in the classroom, with new installments and different
guest stars.
All episodes will feature composer-actor Douglas J.
Quattrock, at the piano, along with his puppet friends: student
Molly the Dolly, teacher Mrs. Cotton, Leo the Bus Driver, The Story
Cat, Dougie J’s parents, Mom and Dad, and many more! Longtime
THEATRE THREE veteran puppeteer Steven Uihlein will provide the
voices and serve as puppet operator. Guest stars will be drawn from
THEATRE THREE’s professional acting company. The first guest is Sari
Feldman, recently seen as The Narrator in Joseph…
The program is created by Artistic Director Jeffrey
Sanzel, who will write and direct each episode, with original music by Quattrock. Sanzel and Quattrock’s fifteen-year collaboration
comprises some of THEATRE THREE’s best-known works for young people,
including Class Dismissed: The Bullying Project; Stand Up! Stand
Out! The Bullying Project; Barnaby Saves Christmas, and many others.
Between them, they have written dozens of original musicals for
young audiences and produced thousands of performances for children
of all ages.
